UX/UI Product Designer (Behavioral Design)
About Rapidata
Rapidata provides a programmatic API to human intelligence, transforming how data is generated and annotated for AI. Instead of relying on fixed workforces, we distribute micro-tasks at internet scale through digital ad infrastructure.
These tasks, called Rapids, are interactive human feedback units delivered inside mobile apps in place of ads. Through a simple API call, customers submit data for evaluation, labeling, or validation, and receive real-time responses from a globally distributed crowd.
The Role
We are looking for a UX-first product designer with exceptional behavioral design instincts. Your mission is to make the Rapid experience extremely clear, trustworthy, and habit-forming — so users engage more, complete more Rapids, and produce higher-quality responses. You will iterate fast at scale (millions of users daily) and own changes end-to-end, from concept to shipped impact.
| Title | UX-First Product Designer (Behavioral Design) |
| Primary surface | Rapid (end-user app), onboarding, motivation, trust, retention |
| Secondary surface | Customer onboarding, messaging, landing pages, activation for B2B customers |
| Impact | Increase engagement, completion rates, and response quality; reduce confusion and drop-offs |
| Working style | High ownership, ship weekly, test-and-learn with instrumentation |
| Team | Close collaboration with engineering and ops, you drive the UX direction |
| Seniority | Senior / staff-level product designer profile (or equivalent portfolio proof) |
What You Will Own
- User (annotator) engagement with Rapids.
- Onboarding that answers: what is this, why should I do it, what do I do next, and how do I progress.
- Experimentation: run rapid, instrumented iterations (A/B tests, staged rollouts, qualitative + quantitative reads).
- Trust and legitimacy cues: reduce perceived risk, make the product feel safe and credible.
- Motivation and incentive mechanics: design feedback, rewards, pacing, and challenge so people want to continue.
- Customer onboarding and positioning (part-time responsibility): improve clarity of the website/landing pages and the 'how to use Rapidata' experience for customers.
Key Responsibilities
- Own and ship a new Rapid onboarding experience — from first impression to first completed Rapid — including microcopy, guidance, and clear progress signals.
- Build a behavior-first activation engine: define hypotheses, design fast experiments, ship weekly, measure impact, and iterate relentlessly.
- Design engagement loops inspired by best-in-class consumer products (high-retention apps, games, commerce flows) — while staying ethical, transparent, and user-respectful.
- Increase completion and repeat usage by reducing friction, improving pacing, clarifying feedback, and making every step feel intentional.
- Level up customer onboarding — sharpen landing page messaging, strengthen trust cues, and make the first-time customer journey more obvious and frictionless.
Who You Are
This role is for someone who loves behavioral design and gets energized by shipping frequently, learning from data, and seeing their work reach millions of people.
Must-have
- Deep intuition for psychology/behavioral economics applied to product design (motivation, trust…).
- Proven track record of designing high-retention consumer experiences (e.g., games, commerce checkout, marketplaces, casino-like interaction loops) — demonstrated via portfolio outcomes.
- High ownership: you independently drive projects from problem framing to shipped iterations.
- Fast iteration mindset: you prefer shipping and testing over perfecting in isolation.
- Excellent microcopy and information design skills: you can make complex flows feel obvious.
- Comfortable working with product/engineering metrics: defining success, instrumenting changes, reading results.
- Strong collaboration with engineers; you can design within constraints and still deliver delight.
Nice-to-have
- Experience designing for massive scale (millions of daily users) and running high-tempo experimentation.
- Familiarity with fraud/trust/safety patterns in consumer products.
- Ability to prototype quickly (Figma + interactive prototypes; light front-end is a plus).
- Experience improving B2B onboarding, developer docs/SDK discoverability, or customer dashboards.
What We Offer
- Competitive salary and equity in a startup with strong growth backed by top-tier VCs.
- Opportunity to join a fast-growing startup early, giving you an outsized impact on the product and company direction.
- Zurich (preferred) / Europe-friendly remote.
- Fun and open startup culture.
- Spacious mountain views office located in Zürich Center near Sihlcity.
- Unlimited snacks and drinks of your choice.
To apply, please submit your CV, a brief cover letter outlining your experience and interest in the role, and a portfolio to join@rapidata.ai. We look forward to learning more about you!
